| Clock Maintenance: Your clock's movement is a mechanical device which requires maintenance to keep it running. A great analogy is your car's engine. Your clock parts are metal on metal. The life of your clock depends on the maintenance of keeping those parts lubricated to keep the movement running. Think about how much we drive our cars. And then think about your clock...it runs 24 hours a day; 7 days a week! As time goes by, the oil starts to break down. If not sufficiently lubricated, it cuts short the life of the clock. For floor clocks or "Grandfather" clocks, the suggested time frame is approximately every 5 years to maintain the life of your clock, which properly taken care of will last generations to come. Any where from 10 years on an "overhaul" is recommended. We offer repair sections in both of our locations. And we do "house calls" for grandfather clocks. |
